This dataset includes blood lead level test results. There can be multiple lead tests for each child. All test result records are kept in the analysis dataset. An indicator that can be used to de-duplicate, creating one record per child, is also included. The birth cohort group of October 1992 through December 2009 were selected based on data availability: Birth data is available, processed, and geocoded for years 1990-2013. Lead data is available, processed, and geocoded for years 1992-2015. However, there are scant few records prior to October 1992. Thus, October 1992 is effectively the beginning of the available lead data. The linkage file covers birth years 1990-2013 linked to lead years 1992-2015. Using these available years of data: * Lead data begins in October 1992. * Since there may be incomplete results for Births in 1990 thru September 1992, those births are omitted. * Since lead data through 2015 was used for linking, children who did not have a BLL test before 2016 will not be linked. 98% of children have their first BLL test before age 6. Thus, for children born in 2009, 98% will have had their first BLL test by the end of 2015, and therefore will have been included in the linking process. * It is rare to use BLL test results for children past age 7. For children born in later years (2007-2009), this will pick up their first BLL test (since the first typically happens by age 5), but we may miss subsequent tests if done at age 6 or 7.
